MIAMI TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A Miami Township EMT and his wife, who previously worked at the same department, were indicted and jailed Monday, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported.

Amy Rodriguez, 45, has been charged with 11 counts of felony child endangerment, court records state.

Her husband, Anthony Dangel, 47, the biological father of the child, was charged with one count of felony child endangerment.

The indictment states the abuse of the teen took place between 2018 and 2021. Prosecutors said the child is severely underweight and has damaged feet and legs.

“This abuse included forcing the victim to stand in a corner for days at a time, strapping the child to a bed, refusing to allow the child to use the restroom, and failing to provide adequate clothing, bedding, or blankets,” according to the prosecutor’s office.

Dangel was placed on administrative leave without pay, officials said. Township officials said that Rodriguez has not been with the fire department since 2019.

A department Facebook post from May 2021 stated, “Dangel was promoted to lieutenant at that time and had been with the department for 13 years,” the Enquirer reported.
