Pro football hall of fame names medic auxiliary chairperson

Career firefighter and paramedic with Ohio department is also part-time captain, assistant training officer

CANTON, Ohio — The Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival department of the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce has named the following auxiliary committee chairs: Alex Hoce, communications; Dan Paumier, special services, and Dennis Manzella, security and logistics.

Hoce is a career firefighter and paramedic with the Jackson Township Fire Department and also is a part-time captain and assistant training officer for Canton Township Fire Department. A graduate of Central Catholic High School, he attended University of Toledo and obtained a bachelor’s degree in emergency management from University of Richmond, Va. He is a member of the International Association of Firefighters and planning committee for Stark County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board “Youth Matters” project. Hoce will be assisted by committee vice chairman Sally Hoce.

Paumier is retired from Westfield Insurance, where he served in the information technology department. He has served on the Special Services Committee since 2002; this is his first year in the leadership position. His volunteer activities include Sarah Care of Canton, Big Brothers of Stark County and Elves and More of Northeast Ohio. Assisting Paumier with committee duties is vice chairman Diane Novak.

Manzella, assistant vice president of marketing for Western Reserve Group, will serve in his first year as chairman of security and logistics. Previously he served as chairman of the Appreciation Party Committee and is a member of the Hall’s Enshrinement and Game Committees.

A graduate of St. John’s University and New York University, he is a member of Professional Insurance Agents of Ohio and Indiana, and Big “I” Agent Association of Ohio and Indiana. Serving as vice chairman is Michele Shaffer.
