TORONTO — A man has been charged two months after the death of a veteran paramedic and his partner in July.

CBC News reported that the driver, who crossed the center line of a highway and hit four motorcyclists, killing George Eliadis, a deputy commander with Toronto Paramedic Services, and his partner, Shari Keyes-Williams, was charged with careless driving, operating a vehicle without a license and driving a vehicle that doesn’t have a validated permit.

“He spent over 25 years saving people and bringing them back to life when he was on the road at work,” Eliadis’ childhood friend George Christopoulos said.

Toronto Paramedic Services spokesperson Kim McKinnon said the agency is still mourning the two deaths.

“Our thoughts and prayers are always with the Eliadis’ and the Keyes-Williams’ families, their friends and colleagues, particularly today, as they are made aware of this new information,” McKinnon said.
