FORT PIERCE, Fla. — A private ambulance struck and killed a 23-year-old man riding a skateboard Sunday evening on U.S. Highway 1, WFLX reported.
Witnesses told police that he attempted to cross the highway in front of a northbound All County Ambulance.
The man was transported to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
An investigation is ongoing.
