WINDOM, Minn. — This week marks National Emergency Medical Services Week, and one man from Windom has spent more than three decades as an EMT.
EMT Buckwheat Johnson says, “I’ve been on long enough to where quite often we respond to a call, somebody is not feeling well, I and another EMT will walk into a residence, and the person will say ‘Hi Buckwheat, how are you doing? Who’s that?’ and points to the other EMT.”
Buckwheat Johnson is still an EMT after 36 years of service.
