SAN ANTONIO — On Aug. 15, the National EMS Academy’s San Antonio campus graduated its largest-ever class of EMTs, new providers now ready to serve the community.

The National EMS Academy, operated by Acadian Ambulance Service, recognized 31 graduates at the San Antonio Civic Center, where family and friends watched the new EMTs receive certificates marking the start of their careers, KENS 5 reported.

Keynote speaker Dr. Emily Kidd, Acadian’s medical director and the Texas Division of Emergency Management’s director of medical response services, recently led tactical medical teams during the Kerr County floods and spoke about the lifesaving impact and public trust EMTs uphold every day.

The National EMS Academy is offering a 75% tuition discount — San Antonians can enroll for approximately $400. The next 12-week hybrid course begins Sept. 8; registration is open at BecomeAMedic.com, with the Academy hoping this record class inspires more future first responders.
