SAN ANTONIO, Texas — JEMS and EMS Today Conference & Expo announced today that the in-person live event originally scheduled for August 24-27, 2021, at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas, is being canceled.

“Our goal for EMS Today is to provide the EMS community a safe platform to learn and connect in person with industry peers,” reads a post on the conference Facebook page. “After evaluating conditions related to the pandemic, a face-to-face event in San Antonio is not possible at this time. Therefore, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s in person event.”

According to the post, conference organizers spoke with many attendees and partners over the past week who are dealing with staffing shortages and travel bans. “We hope taking away the live element of the event will put less of a challenge on their day to day,” the post read.

EMS Today will be offered in a digital conference format, providing the opportunity to earn Commission of Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education (CAPCE)-approved CE credits and an EMS Concierge team that will help schedule one on one meeting with attendees and vendors to help facilitate specific sourcing needs.

According to the announcement, organizers are working diligently to provide further details on the digital offering and to refund registrations and cancel housing if booked through Connections Housing. Additional details are expected by August 18. Additional questions can be directed to emstoday@clarionevents.com.
