Video: Ambulance ran red light in collision with fire truck

Footage from four angles shows the Miami crash, which injured 7 responders and 5 civilians

MIAMI — Newly released footage depicting four angles of a crash shows a Miami Department Fire Rescue ambulance driving through a red light before crashing into a fire truck from the same department.

Video shows the ambulance hitting the fire truck, which overturned, Local10.com reports.

Twelve people were hurt including seven emergency responders, two children and their grandmother who were inside the ambulance and two people in a car clipped by the spinning wreckage.

Both vehicles were on emergency calls and had light and sirens activated.

“It sounded like an explosion,” Kyera Greene, who witnessed the crash, told Local 10 News. “It was loud and it was scary. We didn’t know where the trucks were going to go.”

The crash remains under investigation.
