Oxygen administration in STEMI, CVA and ROSC

In his latest explanation of oxygen administration, Jon Puryear focuses on the 2010 American Heart Association oxygen administration guidelines.

There are many theories explaining why supplemental oxygen may be harmful to people. It has even been recommended by the AHA and other country’s heart associations when and how to administer oxygen to certain people. Studies have concluded that hyperoxia causes free-radical intracellular damage and cell destruction. This video column will review some of the studies and current research showing the thinking and also the current recommendations of supplemental oxygen administration.
