LONDON — A helicopter carrying 18 people has gone down near an oil field in the North Sea, officials said Wednesday.
Maritime and Coastguard Agency spokesman Mark Clark said the Super Puma helicopter ditched as it approached an installation 120 miles (190 kilometers) east of the Scottish city of Aberdeen.
The incident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. local time (1830GMT) near ETAP Field, which is operated by BP PLC, company spokesman David Nicholas said.
