Joe Powell, MICP, EMSC

Joe Powell, MICP, EMSC, Emergency Medical Services coordinator (ret.), Rialto (California) Fire Department

Before his recent retirement, Joe Powell, MICP, EMSC, ran the transport and non-transport Emergency Medical Services division of the Rialto Fire Department. A member of Rialto Fire’s command staff for over 16 years, and a practicing paramedic in San Bernardino County for over 30 years, Joe was awarded two U.S. patents. Joe currently sits on the Institutional Review Board for Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. Joe and the Rialto Fire Department have piloted five prehospital care trial studies and he has been published in the “Western Journal of Emergency Medicine.” Joe has spoken throughout the U.S., and in China, Korea, London, Birmingham, Germany, Taiwan and Indonesia on resuscitation.

Kevin Joles, NREMT-P, is the division chief of EMS for Lawrence-Douglas County Fire and Medical in Lawrence, Kansas. Before his position as chief, Kevin was captain of EMS operations and EMS training in the City of Olathe, where he led clinical education for the city and collaboratively within the Johnson County EMS system. In his nearly 25 years in emergency services, Kevin has found a passion for superior prehospital clinical care across the departments he has worked with over the years. Kevin’s progressive mentality has him spearheading new initiatives for cardiac arrest and working diligently to achieve the department’s international accreditation status (CPSE) and an ISO 1 rating.

Before his position at ZOLL, Terry was a division chief for a large EMS agency in Colorado. Terry has over 25 years of experience in emergency services and as a provider/manager of prehospital emergency and critical care, education and leadership in EMS and the medical devices field.
