March 4, 2019 – Saskatoon, SK, CanadaCrestline Coach Ltd., a global leader in ambulance and specialty vehicle manufacturing and a Canadian dealer of small to mid-sized commercial buses, is celebrating the remarkable women employed at Crestline’s manufacturing facility, in honor of International Women’s Day on Friday, March 8, 2019.

Do you know that only 5.6% of employed women in Canada have a job in manufacturing, compared to 13.2% of all men? There has been minimal increase in the share of manufacturing jobs held by women, over the last 15 years, yet there are significant advantages to a balanced workforce. “Attracting more women into manufacturing professions is not only critical to help companies grow and replace their aging workforce, it provides women with careers that are high value, high tech, highly skilled and high paying,” cited by Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) organization.

Crestline couldn’t agree more and, as part of their mission statement, Crestline continues to create an environment that fosters employee opportunity, empowerment, and growth. Crestline embraces and promotes diversity, and it’s easy to see by observing their workforce; a mosaic of talented and innovative individuals, from 11 different countries, whom welcome the opportunity to learn from one another, and who are inspired by different perspectives. In the end, Crestline benefits from a dynamic team who creates products that are even greater than imagined, all through newly adopted ideas and collaboration.

In a traditionally male dominated industry, Crestline is proud to share that 20% of its overall workforce is female, with 8% representing Management positions and 18% in Leadership roles. Since January 1st, 2019, Crestline has recruited 17 new employees, of which 35% are female.

“A key factor to our success is the diverse group of employees who have chosen to make Crestline Coach their professional home,” shared Steve Hoffrogge, President of Crestline Coach.

This year’s theme for International Women’s Day (IWD) is Balance for Better. The theme is meant to promote a gender-balanced world, to inspire a unified focus, and to motivate a collective movement towards building a better world through equality. ‘Balance is not a women’s issue, it’s a business issue’ and ‘Gender balance is essential for economies and communities to thrive,’ as cited by International Women’s Day organizers.

Balance drives a better working world and we all have a part to play.
