NEW YORK — The FDNY unveiled a new Life Safety Mascot – EMT Siren – and a new ceremonial ambulance to celebrate the department’s 150th anniversary.

EMT Siren is a costumed chocolate Labrador Retriever decked out in EMT personal protective equipment and helmet, with a stethoscope. The mascot will help raise awareness about life-saving services at FDNY events such as CPR training classes. The FDNY150 Ambulance will make its debut at events starting May 17 as part of National EMS Week 2015. The design features a patriotic red, white and blue version of New York City’s skyline and the official logo of the FDNY 150th Anniversary celebration.

Our new life safety mascot – EMT Siren – and this beautiful ambulance are a tribute to every paramedic, EMT and officer who provide unmatched emergency pre-hospital care to New Yorkers 24-hours a day,” said Fire Commissioner Daniel A. Nigro. “As we celebrate this historic anniversary for the department, Siren and the FDNY150 Ambulance will be proudly representing the FDNY in parades, at fire and life safety presentations, and community events throughout the year.”
