Ambulance crashes, patients die in South Africa

CAPE TOWN, South Africa — Three people including a six-month-old baby were killed in an ambulance crash on the N10 near Buffelshoek on Tuesday, Eastern Cape police said.

Inspector Dumile Gwavu said the ambulance was transporting 13 patients from Cradock to a hospital in Port Elizabeth at about 8am when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The 18-year-old man was flung from the ambulance and died on scene.
