EVANSVILLE, Ind. — A medical helicopter made an emergency landing in a southwest Indiana field after the pilot decided the snow was too heavy to continue flying.
The Air Evac Lifeteam helicopter was transporting a patient from Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon, Ill., to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
The helicopter landed in a field near the Posey-Vanderburgh county line about 8 p.m Wednesday. The pilot said he decided to land the helicopter when the snow made it difficult to see.
An ambulance arrived about 20 minutes later to take the patient to Deaconess Hospital.
