5 hurt after Minn. ambulance struck head-on

A woman struck the ambulance after veering into a ditch and overcorrecting to get back on the highway

GLENWOOD, Minn. — Five people were transported to the hospital after a vehicle crashed head-on into an ambulance Saturday.

State police said Melanie Joy Sievert, 58, initially veered into a ditch before overcorrecting the vehicle and striking an ambulance. She was transported to the hospital for non life-threatening injuries, reported The Daily Journal.

The ambulance had four people on board at the time of the crash. It is unclear whether any patients were inside. The driver of the ambulance and three passengers were all transported to the hospital and treated for their injuries.
