LOS ANGELES — Fire officials say six people were hurt when an ambulance collided head-on with another vehicle.
Los Angeles Fire Department Capt. Ron Myers says the patient in the ambulance was critically ill and being taken to a hospital when the crash occurred early Monday.
The female driver of the vehicle that collided with the ambulance in the Pacific Palisades area was flown to a hospital in critical condition.
Four firefighters in the ambulance suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Authorities say the cause of the crash is under investigation.
It was not immediately clear whether the ambulance had its emergency lights and siren on at the time of the accident.
