Are private EMS agencies being forgotten during the pandemic?
Our co-hosts speak with Senior Vice President Asbel Montes of Acadian Ambulances regarding the differences in federal COVID-19 funding for private and public EMS departments
On today’s podcast, co-hosts Chris Cebollero and Kelly Grayson speak with Asbel Montes, senior vice president of strategic initiatives and innovation for Acadian Ambulance. Montes describes his frustration for private EMS agencies when it comes to federal solutions to COVID-19, including a lack of opportunity to purchase PPE, ineligibility for stimulus money and the potential of hazardous pay, as well as line-of-duty-death benefits for private providers.
Asbel also lays out a four-step approach to how EMS can assist in making the needed changes to the federal laws.
