NEW YORK CITY — Queens grandmother Mary O’Hagan was all tears and hugs yesterday when she met the two guardian angels who brought her back to life after a heart attack.
O’Hagan could barely contain her affection as she embraced FDNY paramedics Robert Salvesen and Victor Potito at the FDNY’s 13th annual Second Chance Brunch on Randalls Island.
“I love you,” the 70-year-old O’Hagan gushed. “I am so grateful for what you did for me . . . There will never be a day when I don’t pray for you.”
On Feb. 9, O’Hagan, who has 11 grandchildren, was getting ready for bed when she began experiencing chest pains.
Salvesen, 55, and Potito, 30, were at the end of their shift when a 911 call dispatched them to O’Hagan’s Belle Harbor home.
They rushed her into their ambulance, but she suddenly went into cardiac arrest. So they grabbed a defibrillator and shocked her heart back to life.
