ST. PETERSBURG, Calif. — An EMT is coming under fire after posting a controversial “EMS Bingo” photo on Facebook.
A SunStar Paramedics EMT posted the photo Friday, but later took it down the same day.
The photo was captioned, “Happy EMS Week!”
The game depicted several EMS scenarios on different squares, such as gunshot wound, stabbing, seizures, diabetic patient and motor vehicle crash, reported FOX 13.
Moreover, descriptions of the scenarios were frowned upon as well: code brown, overly dramatic family, psych patient and successful intubation.
“At what point did anybody think this was remotely a good idea?” former EMT Garrett Goodwin said. “Imagine you loved one being hurt, watching your loved one have a heart attack. Imagine your drowned child trying to be revived. You get in with this ambulance, and you see this with boxed checked off.”
However, some social media users defended the employee’s post and said that they should be allowed to have some fun.
SunStar said the image was inappropriate and the printout was being removed from the vehicle, and will make sure it is not in any other ambulances.
“It’s a black eye on the millions of first responders that work hard and sacrifice their lives everyday,” Goodwin said.
