A voice in the dark: Honoring National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week
Fire, police and EMS agencies, as well as local governments, share their appreciation for emergency dispatchers during the 2023 recognition week
“911, what’s your emergency?”
Despite their federal classification as “office and administrative support occupations,” emergency dispatchers are the first line of defense during what could be the worst moment in a person’s life.
During National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, local government, public safety agencies and advocacy groups are offering their thanks and appreciation to the headset heroes who literally answer the call.
How is your agency or department celebrating the recognition week? Share your appreciation for the dispatchers in your community with a few kind words in the comments below.
