KNOX COUNTY, Ky. — A firefighter-EMT who was found dead at an illegal dump site was confirmed by police to have been murdered.
LEX18 reported that the body of Artemus Fire Department volunteer firefighter-EMT Michael Sowders was found at an illegal dump site under a pile of garbage by an inmate crew that was cleaning up the area.
Police confirmed that Sowders had been shot, but did not release any suspect names related to the murder.
