SAN ANTONIO — The 2016 National Rural EMS Conference will be held April 21-22 at the San Antonio Marriott Riverwalk. The conference agenda features topics and discussions pertinent to rural EMS stakeholders and partners including presentations on policy issues, the EMS Agenda for the Future and community paramedicine-mobile integrated health care.

In its second year, the National Rural EMS Conference is hosted through the Joint Committee on Rural Emergency Care in partnership with the National Organization of State Office of Rural Health, the National Association of State Emergency Medical Services Officials and the Texas Department of Health. Approximately 200 participants are expected to attend, including rural EMS directors, state EMS officials, hospital administrators, medical directors, paramedic chiefs, field providers and other interested EMS partners.

“This is a great opportunity to learn and network with national, state and local rural emergency care stakeholders,” said Tom Nehring, NASEMSO, rural EMS committee chair. “We are proud to be a part of supporting and convening those dedicated rural emergency care providers throughout the nation.”

The Joint Committee on Rural Emergency Care was established to ensure collaboration and partnerships to improve rural EMS access for America’s 61 million rural citizens.
