26-year-old EMT dies of heart attack

Kevin Maffettone’s colleagues said he was recent graduate of his EMT class, just beginning his career in EMS

MORRISVILLE, Pa. — A Pa. EMT died Monday at the Morrisville Ambulance Squad building.

Kevin Maffettone, 26, also a volunteer with the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad, suffered an apparent heart attack during a shift change, according to Bucks Local News.

“We’ve never had anything like this ever happen before,” Operations Supervisor Roxie Rookstool told PhillyBurbs.com. “It’s just unbelievable. He was such a young man.”

Maffettone was found unconscious on the floor of the squad building. He was treated at the scene and transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Maffettone’s colleagues said he was a recent graduate of his EMT class and was just beginning his career in EMS.
