ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. — A 58-year-old woman died Friday morning after suffering a cardiac event after EMS were suspended during Hurricane Matthew.
St. Lucie Fire District reported the death as the first storm-related fatality because emergency crews were unable to respond to the call.
The victim’s name has not been released, reported WPTV. She did not live on a barrier island.
