EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — It is a difficult day for the Eau Claire Fire Department, as it has lost one of its own. The department is mourning the loss of friend and colleague, Denise Waterman.
Waterman was an engineer and paramedic for the department for 16 years. She lost a battle with colon cancer this week. It’s a battle the Eau Claire Fire Department says she fought courageously.
Deputy Chief Allyn Bertrang, who was Waterman’s partner at Station 5, says she was compassionate with parents and made a difference in people’s lives in her work as a paramedic. He adds she will be missed.
