FRESNO, Calif. — A Fresno firefighter-EMT and his wife delivered their own baby on Sept. 8, the department announced on Facebook.
Firefighter Taylor Cruz was on duty at the station when his wife, Lisa, called to say that she was experiencing early labor with their second child.
He headed home, but as things were moving fast, the two wound up meeting at the side of Highway 41, where they delivered the baby in her car.
Cruz used his EMT training, saying he went “into work mode” to deliver his first baby ever and his own daughter.
