SCOTTSBORO, Ala. — A paramedic was arrested and charged with assault with bodily fluids after he allegedly threw a medical tool at a firefighter’s face.

First responders were at the scene of a car wreck with one patient seriously injured, when police say Paramedic Matthew Houston West, 32, threw a used medical tool at the face of a firefighter, causing minor injuries, WAFF 48 reported.

West was charged with assault with bodily fluids, a Class A misdemeanor, and transported to jail.
