NEW YORK — A man who is charged with killing an FDNY EMT was found fit to stand trial by the prosecution.

News12 reported that prosecutors found that Jose Gonzalez is fit to stand trial for the death of Yadira Arroyo, whom he allegedly ran over with her own ambulance after stealing it while high on drugs, according to police.

A court-appointed psychologist has asked that another examination be held to determine if Gonzalez can handle the trial while he is on medication for schizophrenia.

Arroyo’s colleagues said they do not believe that Gonzalez is mentally ill, but that he was aware of his actions and that he is playing games.

Gonzalez is due back in court June 21.
