PARAMUS — Police say an intoxicated man bit an officer who was assisting his transport to the hospital Tuesday evening.
Gerald Guy, 44, of Plainfield, was being escorted by ambulance to Bergen Regional Medical Center in Paramus around 7:20 p.m., police said.
“It appears that during the transport, while traveling along East Ridgewood Avenue, the intoxicated male became combative within the ambulance and had to be restrained,” Paramus Police Lt. John Scully said in a statement.
