Minn. medic recovering from ambulance crash to leave hospital on Valentine’s Day

Brian Nagel, 30, was helping to transport a patient when an SUV collided head-on with the ambulance; nearly a month later he will return home

Valentine’s Day will be extra special for Brian Nagel, 30, who was critically injured in January when an SUV crashed head-on into his ambulance, also injuring EMT Tim Daly, 43, who was released from the hospital in late January with both legs in casts.

The driver of the SUV also died.

After nearly a month of recovery, Nagel is expected to go home from the hospital on Friday, and will have stitches removed on Monday, KSTP.com reports. He has been undergoing physical and speech therapy, but has been eager to get ome.
