N.Y. EMS crew hospitalized after rig crashes while responding to call

ONONDAGA N.Y. — Two people were taken to the hospital after an ambulance went off the road Monday on Onondaga Hill.

The crash was reported at about 2:25 p.m. on West Seneca Turnpike in the town of Onondaga, downhill from Upstate Community Hospital.

The ambulance operated by TLC Emergency Medical Services was headed to a crash on the Onondaga Nation, according to Thomas Newton, a spokesperson for the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office.

The ambulance left tire tracks in a grassy area where it went off the road.

The two people inside the ambulance, both men, were taken to the hospital, Newton said.

Both are in stable condition, he said.
