Traffic signals at an intersection were not working at the time of the crash

IBERVILLE PARISH, La. — An ambulance was involved in a crash while responding to a call Friday night.

WAFB reported that two Acadian Ambulance paramedics and the driver of a pickup truck were taken to a hospital after the collision; their injuries were described as non-life threatening. A patient in the ambulance was extricated by responders.

The injured paramedics and driver were later reported in stable condition.

The ambulance was struck on its side at an intersection by the pickup truck, according to WBRZ, forcing it into three feet of water in a ditch off the highway.

Officials said a power outage likely contributed to the crash; traffic signals at the intersection were not working at the time of the collision.

The ambulance was responding with lights and sirens, but the pickup truck didn’t stop at the intersection, according to the report.
