Ambulance crashes en route to a shooting victim

The ambulance was crossing through a red light when it crashed into a pickup truck

OMAHA, Neb. — An ambulance crashed into a pickup truck Thursday as it was on its way to a shooting scene.

Officials told the Associated Press the ambulance was crossing through a red light with its lights and sirens activated when it hit the truck.

The truck driver, Robert D. Hollis, 62, was ejected from his seat. He was not wearing a seatbelt. He was transported to the hospital with life-threatening head injuries.

There were no other injuries.

The shooting victim was transported to the hospital, where he later died, reported WOWT.
