2 Ark. medics injured after wrong-way driver crashes into ambulance

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Two EMS providers were hurt Sunday in an ambulance crash that resulted in the death of another driver.

KATV reported that Briana Carter, 21, was driving the wrong way on the highway when she struck the front of a Metro EMS ambulance.

Paramedics Paul Sanchez, 22, and Darius Williams, 23, were extricated from the ambulance and transported to the hospital.

One of the paramedics required surgery, and the other suffered minor injuries, according to a Facebook post from the agency.

Carter was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The ambulance was not transporting a patient at the time of the incident.
