CINCINNATI — Two Cincinnati Fire Department members were injured and another driver was killed in an ambulance collision Thursday night.

Leron Davis, 27, was transported to the hospital with serious injuries after the collision between his vehicle and the fire department rig, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. Davis later died from his injuries, the Hamilton County Coroner's Office confirmed Friday.

Two crewmembers from the ambulance were also hospitalized after the crash and are expected to survive.

The crew was returning from a call at the time of the crash, officials say. The Cincinnati Police Department Traffic Unit is investigating the incident.

Cincinnati Police Capt. Doug Snider told WLWT that the crash occurred in a high-traffic area where there are "a significant amount of accidents."
