YORK, Pa. — A farmer who was trapped under farm equipment was taken to York Hospital by helicopter for treatment.
Eric Myers, fire chief for Laurel Fire Co. in Windsor Township, said firefighters were called to 1120 Snyder Corner Road shortly after 4 p.m. Monday to free the man.
He said he did not know the farmer’s name. The farmer received moderate injuries to an arm, according to Myers.
He said the farmer was fixing a fence post when his John Deere tractor rolled on him. While the man could move the rest of his body, his arm was pinned, the fire chief said.
He said the man had a pretty bad gash on his arm. Myers said he doesn’t know how long the man was trapped and did not immediately know how long it took to free him.
Emergency rescue teams had to use four-wheel drive vehicles to get down to the area where the farmer was trapped.
Firefighters used farm tractors to stabilize and then upright the rolled-over tractor, he said.
