ELKO, Nev. — Members of the community attended a vigil this week in memory of four people who died in an air ambulance crash last weekend.

American Medflight pilot Yuji Irie, paramedic Jake Shepherd, nurse Tiffany Urresti were transporting a patient, Edward Clohesey, when the plane crashed shortly after takeoff, reported the Review Journal.

The plane crashed in a parking lot not far from the airport, reported the Elko Daily Free Press.

A high school choir and a fire service chaplain led the Monday vigil.

“There are four holes in the hearts and the minds of everyone here,” Bill Killian, the fire service chaplain, said.

The NTSB is conducting an investigation.
