Shooting at Iowa high school leaves 3 in critical condition
Police officers secured the scene and took suspects into custody; EMS providers transported the injured to hospitals

DES MOINES, Iowa — A shooting on the grounds of East High School in Des Moines has left three people in critical condition, KCCI reported Monday afternoon.
Police officers are at the scene, where the school has been locked down and residents were asked to steer clear.
The three injured people, who appear to be teenagers, were transported and hospitalized after the shooting, which happened outside the school but still on school grounds.

The three victims are two boys and a girl, fire department spokesperson Ahman Douglass told CNN.
“The medics and firefighters did an outstanding job with this,” Des Moines Police Sgt. Paul Parizek told KCCI.
Parizek said suspects have been detained in the case.
