Listen: 911 recording of wife questioning response time in fatal NJ mall carjacking

Her panic is evident as she spoke with dispatchers while waiting 18 minutes for an ambulance to arrive

HOBOKEN, N.J. — Police released the 911 recording of a wife’s panicked call when her husband was shot and killed in a New Jersey mall carjacking last month, and she is questioning why it took the ambulance 18 minutes to arrive.

Dustin Friedland, 30, was shot in the head and neck as he and his wife were getting into their car in the parking lot after Christmas shopping. He died of his injuries.

The ambulance company has not explained the delay in response time when his wife, Jamie, called 911, Fox News reports.

Once on the scene, the vehicle wouldn’t fit in the garage, so emergency responders rolled a gurney upstairs.

Meanwhile, after a massive manhunt, police arrested four New Jersey men who have pleaded not guilty to murder, carjacking conspiracy and weapons charges, according to The Morning Call. Basim Henry, 32, of Newark, was previously jailed for bank robbery. The other men are Karif Ford, 31 and Kevin Roberts, 33, both of Newark, and Hanif Thompson, 29, of Invington. All four remain in prison under $2 million bail.
