WAUSAUKEE, Wis. — 41-year-old Amanda Stumbris of Wausaukee made her initial appearance today in Marinette County court on four counts of felony theft.

Amanda Stumbris was the office manager of the Wausaukee Rescue Squad, handling its financial accounts. According to the Rescue Squad’s president, an investigation started back in May. The squad is an EMT service, responding to calls in 7 townships in Marinette County. It has three ambulances in two locations and sixty volunteers.

When “suspicious” activity started showing up in the squad’s checking account, President Kevin Kwasny says his board approached then office manager Stumbris about missing money, allegedly, more than $130,000.
