London Ambulance crew injured in attack

Service’s director of operations says he is ‘appalled’ after two medics were attacked while responding to an emergency

London — Two ambulance medics were taken to hospital after an alleged assault by a patient in Hayes this morning.

The crew were injured after being called to treat a person who was taken unwell in Marvell Avenue at about 9am.

Director of operations for London Ambulance Service, Jason Killens, said the male medic stepped in to help his female colleague, and sustained injuries to his face, chest, arms and legs.
