TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. — Six people in an ambulance and one person in another car were injured in a collision at a traffic light Sunday morning, WLFI.com reports.
Two Clarks Hill Fire Department members, two Tippecanoe County EMTs, and an EMT student were taken to Franciscan Saint Elizabeth East Hospital, and three were treated for minor injuries. The patient was not hurt.
The driver of the ambulance had lights and sirens on while transporting a patient, and slowed down at a right light but two cars were already going through the intersection, Tippecanoe County Sheriff Tracy Brown told the paper.
The ambulance avoided the first car, but hit the second car on its drivers die, trapping Stephen Henson in the vehicle as the airbags deployed.
He was taken to IU Health Arnett Hospital with a concussion.
