BOISE, Idaho — The survivors of a plane crash in central Idaho don’t have to prove how close they came to death. They have evidence in the form of a seven-minute video documenting their harrowing experience, including the bloody aftermath.
One of the passengers, Nathan Williams of Boise, told The Associated Press on Thursday that he and his friends are “just four guys who are lucky to be alive.”
Williams was filming June 30 when the small plane took off from a dirt runway and headed toward the mountain resort town of McCall. The video shows the plane flying for several minutes before descending and slamming into some trees.
It has drawn national attention after being posted online this week.
Williams says he suffered a concussion in the crash. The pilot, 70-year-old Les Gropp, had a broken jaw, while two others escaped with cuts and bruises.
