No major injuries as bus crashes in snowy Colorado

DENVER — A tour bus carrying 45 passengers was part of a string of accidents south of Denver as rain and snow cause slick, icy conditions on Colorado’s highways.

Authorities say five people on the bus complained of injuries from Saturday morning’s accident, but no one had to be transported by ambulance.

Colorado State Patrol Trooper Nate Reid says the bus crash was one of three separate accidents on Interstate 25 that closed the northbound lanes of Colorado’s main north-south highway.

The treacherous conditions are blamed for at least one fatal crash elsewhere. Reid says one person died when a vehicle went into a creek west of Denver.

There were several crashes on Interstate 70 at Vail Pass, but Reid says the injuries were minor.
