HONOLULU — Authorities say five people are dead following a two-car crash in Hawaii.
The Maui News reports (http://bit.ly/GRBDgZ ) the accident occurred on Kula Highway Sunday morning.
Police Lt. Wayne Ibarra says a preliminary investigation shows that a Dodge sedan carrying six people crossed the center line and collided with a Suzuki sedan traveling in the opposite direction,
He says five passengers in the Dodge were ejected. Four of them, three males and one female, died at the scene. A male later died while he was being transported to a hospital. He did not have details about the driver.
The three adult occupants of the Suzuki, all Pukalani residents, are hospitalized in serious condition.
No other details were immediately available.
