CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. —Two women who were shot by a gunman at a community college in southwest Virginia are reported to be in stable condition.
A spokeswoman for the Christiansburg Police Department reported their conditions Saturday, one day after the shootings at a satellite campus of New River Community College.
Spokeswoman Becky Wilburn said the women’s names or additional information on their injuries would not be released, citing privacy concerns.
Both victims are being treated in Roanoke, about 35 miles away.
An 18-year-old student at the college has been charged in the shootings. Investigators say they don’t know what motivated the shootings by the suspect, Neil Allan MacInnis.
He is being held without bail.
