ESTACADA, Ore. — Oregon authorities say the search is resuming with daylight for a 6- or 7-year-old girl who fell into the Clackamas River in the Mount Hood National Forest.

The search started Sunday evening after the sheriff’s office received a 911 call from the girl’s father saying she was swept away near Austin Hot Springs, which is about 30 miles southeast of Estacada and 60 miles southeast of Portland.

The Clackamas River is running very fast and cold because of the winter storm that brought rain and snow to the region.
