LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Doctors are praising the recovery efforts of Little Rock EMT after she fell nearly 100 feet down a cliff, sustaining life-threatening injuries in March 2018.

Jennifer Bartholmey, 28, was hiking North Little Rock’s Emerald Park alone when she fell down a cliff and sustained multiple injuries including a broken pelvis and tibia, ABC 7 reported. A hiker passing by spotted her and called 911.

To this day, Bartholmey has no recollection of the fall but knows that emergency crews spent hours working to evacuate her out of the area.

“I really thought her career was over, to be honest with you,” Capt. Dwayne Aalseth, Bartholemy’s ambulance partner, said.

Bartholemy underwent multiple surgeries and attended hours of physical therapy. She returned to work earlier this month and plans on finishing paramedic school, which she had started at the time of her accident.

Doctors believe she will have lifelong lingering health issues but said they are awed by her pace of progression.
