CLINTON, Miss. — NAEMT released the results of its 2016 national survey on EMS mental health services.
Mental health is still a taboo topic among the first responder community. The survey was electronically distributed to more than 40,000 EMTs, paramedics, EMS managers and medical directors in March 2016.
The results of the survey help look at the resources, programs and services EMS agencies provide to personnel to help cope with the stresses of the job. Many respondents indicated EMS mental health is an urgent issue and more needs to be done to address it.
